Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA)

About this Course

The Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 commonly referred to as RIPA sets the framework for public bodies such as police forces and local authorities to carry out surveillance and interception of communications. The act covers directed and intrusive surveillance as well as the deployment of a covert human intelligence source (CHIS).

Failure to comply with the various provisions of RIPA may lead to investigations being significantly compromised.

The Sancus Solutions RIPA training will equip delegates with the necessary knowledge and skills to make, justify and implement decisions. Delivered by experienced practitioners the course will be personalised to reflect the role and level of experience of those attending.

The one day course is suitable for anyone involved in making or approving applications to carry out surveillance or deploy a CHIS.
